AI and Machine Learning are currently at the forefront of the tech world. Education is voraciously trying to keep up with all of the new advances and how they can be utilized by teachers and students. But using AI and Machine Learning does not mean that there is an understanding of how they work and how these powerful tools can be used to create solutions to problems that are relevant to the lives of our students and communities. This session will be a guided, hands-on overview of Code.org’s Unit 7 - AI and Machine Learning. Teachers, Administrators, Counselors, and Tech Coordinators will learn how to use this unit to help students move from being consumers of AI and Machine Learning to being creators of an app using machine learning to solve a personally relevant problem. Participants are also given access to self-paced professional learning and curriculum investigation for this unit that will prepare them to share the resources with others or teach this unit directly to students and resources to connect to other teachers teaching AI through the Code.org Forum.
